Why I shoot weddings
Earlier today I received a card from one of this years couples that made me remember why I love weddings. Getting this sort of feedback makes me extremely proud to be a part of each couples wedding day and is why I chose to dedicate my life to wedding photography
From Lyndsey and Tim:
Charles. Words cannot express how thankful we are to you for sharing in our wedding day and creating such a wonderful story of our special day through the wedding album.
Both families and friends are astounded as to how professional yet personal your work has been. From the pre wedding shoot, through the wedding day, to the finished album, your creative flair shone through and added something extra special to our day.
You are such a talented individual and we are so glad to have found you. Thank you again
Being a wedding photographer can be both stressful, hard work and a demanding profession but the rewards when I know I can make such an impact to a couples special day make all those times worth every second and the very reason I love weddings
My Lastest Assistant
I had the rare chance to be an actual guest at a wedding on Saturday for my wife’s cousin. We were also there with our 4 year old son who has decided he wants to follow in his dads footsteps and become a photographer. It was amazing to watch him capture the story of the day with his trusty point and shoot camera, from guest shots, the arrival of the bridesmaids and even the entrance of the bride. He even wanted to come up to the front with me to take a register signing shot and every shot he took was well composed with no missing feet
So it looks like some things Do run in the family!
Always looking for a new angle
From Camera to Print – The art of images
In this day of social media, digital everything and instant uploads, why do we still sell prints? Too many people have forgotton that taking the photograph is just the start of creating a fantastic piece of art. Even in film days, a good photographer would spend hours tweaking each print in the dark room, darkening one bit, lightening another, sharpening different sections, all in the pursuit of the perfect image. In this digital age, professional photographers still use many of these techniques to create that perfect image. The skills involved in “finishing” an image take years of practise to perfect and is something of an art form in itself.
Every print, canvas or framed image we produce is hand edited to bring out the best in each image, from removal of background distractions, colour correcting skin tones to black and white conversions. All of our wedding Collections either include the original files or have the option to purchase them, but nothing can replace a great photo, carefully hand edited, and presented as a beautiful crafted canvas or framed image, ready to take pride of place in your home
Fountains Abbey Wedding Fair
We had a great day at Fountains Hall wedding fair on Sunday 17th October as a special thanks goes out to Elizabeth and all the staff for their help on the day (and of course for the refreshments and biscuits). We met some great couples, had a lot of interest in our wedding “photobooth” and great comments from everyone about our wedding photography. I even managed to take a quick photo with my phone of the stand which showcased some of our favourite images from Fountains Abbey weddings this year
