A thousand split second moments, all coming together to tell a story - This is what wedding photography means to me.
A wedding day is a truly unique event in that no two moments are ever the same. Every look, every smile, every tear differs from each wedding. To search out and capture those moments is what makes being a wedding photographer so different to any other form of photography and why I fell in love with wedding photography
What is my style? Documentary? Reportage? Classical? Fine Art? All of the above? My style flows and changes from one wedding to the next and every wedding may require a slightly different approach from the one before. I am there to capture the very moments you will treasure for a lifetime, and if that means stepping into the shadows and watching from a distance or getting people to where they need to be in time, then it is all part of my job. So what is my style? I see it purely as "storytelling"
A great wedding photographer isnt just someone who can capture nice images but someone who the couple can trust to tell their unique story, in a relaxed, friendly fashion, who can flow with whatever the day brings and lets them get on to enjoy one of the most wonderful days of their lives
I have been a reassuring voice to a nervous bride, lent cufflinks to a groom, even transported the couple to the reception when their wedding car broke down on a snowy roundabout. I have been time keeper, wedding coordinator, even showed bridesmaids how to lace up the brides beautiful dress, all in the pursuit of the couples perfect day.
I have been capturing wedding images since 2004 and in that time have had the privilege to share my story telling with hundreds of couples, from the smallest intimate wedding to grand weddings at venues such as York Minster and Allerton castle.
I am based in the beautiful spa town on Harrogate, North Yorkshire where I live with my wife Claire and my two sons but cover weddings all over the UK
Wedding photography as unique as you are.
